In preparation for The Open 2025, the iconic Royal Portrush course has been redesigned, featuring two new holes. The 7th and 8th holes have been introduced, replacing the 17th & 18th, to accommodate the large crowds—totalling 190,000 at this renowned coastal venue for another thrilling edition of The Open Championship.
The new 7th hole, a 592-yard stretch, begins from an elevated tee and spans an area that once encompassed the 5th and 6th holes of the club’s adjoining Valley course. The 434-yard 8th hole presents a challenging tee shot over a chasm, offering a breathtaking view of the historic Dunluce Castle ruins.
With Northern Ireland’s rugged coastline as the backdrop and the roar of the crowds, The Open 2025 at Royal Portrush promises a captivating atmosphere that will resonate with players and spectators alike, taking the Open Championship experience to unprecedented heights.
